Keith Berger's Artist Statement
I enjoy taking photographs of the wonders of nature, both large and small, of coastal scenes and cityscapes. After discovering Freeman Patterson’s works and writings, I was inspired to work on expanding my visual thinking and began a series of photographic projects focusing on abstractions and reflections that view everyday scenes and objects in new ways.
Selected prints from my portfolio are available for viewing at the Viewpoint Gallery in downtown Sacramento. They have also been exhibited at Viewpoint’s annual member shows and fine print auctions and other venues in California and England. In addition, my photographs of the Fair Oaks Horticultural Center have been featured on the banners, flags and other exhibit displays utilized by the Sacramento County Master Gardener program at their annual Harvest Day event and at their State Fair site.
I am a member of the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center. I have benefited greatly from the monthly Viewpoint print nights, from attending Viewpoint-sponsored workshops by photographers and educators such as Mark Citret and Gene Kennedy, and from my generous and helpful fellow Viewpoint members.
